Lady Gaga and Lisa Kudrow to perform 'Smelly Cat' duet in 'Friends' reunion special

Lisa Kudrow will be performing her iconic song "Smelly Cat" once again, but this time, she'll be joined by no less than Lady Gaga!

Ben Winston, the director and producer of the "Friends" reunion special, told Variety that he asked Kudrow if she'd be prepared to sing it and she answered, "Yeah, that would be fun."

He added, "We went through a few names, and we both agreed that Gaga, if we could get her, would be the ultimate one because she associates with and feels close to Phoebe in so many ways, as Gaga says on the show. That was a really beautiful moment. And Lady Gaga jumped at the chance to do it."

According to the report, the two stars barely had any rehearsal time as the reunion was filmed over two days.

"We sat there with the two guitars with Lisa and her and worked it out there and then," Winston said.

"Friends," a series that follows the lives of six reckless adults living in Manhattan, aired from 1994 to 2004.

The unscripted special is set to stream on HBO Max.

This marks the first time that the original cast — Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc — were filming together in 17 years. —JCB, GMA News
