Ed Sheeran announces new single to come in a 'few weeks'

It's official: Ed Sheeran is set to release new music soon!

The British singer-songwriter announced the good news on Facebook, Wednesday, sharing a photo of himself making a face.

"The moment you realize your first solo single in [four] years is coming out in a few weeks," he wrote in the caption of his post.

As of writing, the photo has reached over 428,000 reactions, 10,000 shares and 17,000 comments from excited fans.

"Thank you! We need your music! We need your hope, love, and inspiration," one wrote.

"Ready to hear Ed sing again! I missed him and his amazing talent," went another.

Ed first hinted the upcoming music last month when he posted a photo of him with a guitar and said that there is "something cooking."

Previously, Ed worked closely with ONE OK ROCK for "Renegades," the theme song for the film "Rurouni Kenshin: The Final." In December last year, he released "Afterglow."
