Son Ye Jin confirmed to star in new romance series

"Crash Landing On You" actress Son Ye Jin is on to another project!

The actress has been confirmed to star in an upcoming romance drama series entitled "39."

According to a Soompi report, Son Ye Jin's agency MSTeam Entertainment confirmed the news on Wednesday. "Son Ye Jin has decided on the upcoming JTBC drama ’39’ as her next project," it said.

"This will be her first return to JTBC in three years following the drama ‘Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food,'" it added.

"39," a 12-episode drama series, revolves around the romance and everyday lives of three friends about to turn 40.

In the new series, Ye Jin will act as Cha Mi Jo, a head dermatologist of a clinic in Gangnam and grew up in a wealthy environment.

Prior to her agency's confirmation, talks of Ye Jin taking on a role for "39" started circulating last April. 

Meanwhile, "Hospital Playlist" star Jeon Mi Do and "Nothing to Lose" Yeon Woo Jin are also in talks to take part in the series.

Written by Yoo Young Ah of “Encounter” and directed by Kim Sang Ho of “Run On,” “39” is set to start filming in August once casting is complete. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
