Catherine Zeta-Jones to play Morticia in Tim Burton's upcoming Wednesday Addams series

The new series about the iconic Addams Family has reportedly found its Morticia!

According to Variety on Tuesday, Catherine Zeta-Jones is set to play the Addams family’s iconic matriarch in the upcoming Netflix show "Wednesday."

also confirmed she will play the titular character, Wednesday, while Luis Guzman is set to play her father, Gomez.

The original “The Addams Family” follows an odd family who are seemingly unaware that people find them bizarre or frightening. The story revolves around husband and wife Gomez and Morticia Addams, their two children Wednesday and Pugsley, and their Uncle Fester.

One of the most popular adaptations was the 1991 film, in which Wednesday was played by Christina Ricci while Morticia was played by Anjelica Huston.

In February, Netflix announced that it working on a "Wednesday" series, directed by Tim Burton.

The show is set to have eight episodes and will revolve around Wednesday's years as a student at the peculiar Nevermore Academy. —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
