Get ready to meet a new classmate this school year when “Sex Education” Season 3 arrives Sept. 17 on Netflix.

Let that rainbow flag fly, because the LGBTQ-inclusive comedy series is introducing a proudly non-binary character named Cal who will be played by new cast member Dua Saleh.

According to Netflix, Cal is an intelligent and articulate new student at Moordale high who immediately sparks a connection with the school’s popular jock heartthrob, Jackson (Kedar Wiliams-Stirling).

Dua Saleh is a Sudanese-born non-binary singer-rapper who has made a splash in the music industry with eye-opening hits like “Warm Pants” and “Hellbound.”

The singer, who prefers to go by the pronouns they or he, is also known for their spoken-word poetry and activist work, which include protest against what is called the “school to prison pipeline.”

There is definitely a lot to be excited about “Sex Education” Season 3: What will happen to Moordale high’s “sex clinic” under a new head teacher? Will Eric and Adam take their relationship to the next level? Will Otis and Maeve finally hit it off?

So be sure to catch them this Friday on Netflix. – RC, GMA News
