You can now play '80s and '90s games like Agawang Base online

Do you miss the games you used to play out in the streets, like Agawang Base and Habulan Tulungan?

If yes, then you might like Pacifica, a multi-player role playing game developed in 2010 by Galileo Lajarda, Donnie Ray Gianchand, Justine Aaron Torrevillas, and Jeremiah Torrevillas.

The online game features the '80s and '90s games that were popular among Pinoys back then.

"Kami mga batang '90s, may mga laro tayong namimiss din, so isa rin 'yun na way na maglagay kami dun para ma-remember ng mga batang '90s din, mga dating laro nila," Justine said.

The game is very much Pinoy-themed, with the team names being called "Astig" and "Siga." Its map is also based on Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

Pacifica also features a battle feature, which contains Filipino elements like the balisong as a weapon, pechay and kangkong as enemies, and adobo and kare-kare as energy.

"Nung una hindi naman siya intention, pero na-fi-feel na rin namin... parang maging sariling atin, 'pag nakita ng Pilipino, magiging proud sila na ito ang kultura natin," Donnie said.

The developers are currently working on making a 3D version of the game, the report added. —JCB, GMA News
