David Beckham documentary series in the works at Netflix

Netflix is producing a documentary starring football star David Beckham!

The streaming giant announced on Thursday that the multi-part series will "go beyond the shine of stardom to explore Beckham’s humble working-class beginnings in East London."

Featuring never-before-seen personal archive footage from the last forty years, candid current-day moments, and interviews with the family, friends, and football figures, the documentary will showcase Beckham's drive and determination that led him to become one of the most iconic athletes of all time.

Academy Award-winner Fisher Stevens will helm the project, along with Academy Award and Emmy Award-winning producer John Battsek.

David Robert Joseph Beckham OBE is a former professional footballer, currently the president and co-owner of Inter Miami CF, and co-owner of Salford City.

He is married to Spice Girls singer Victoria Beckham, who he shares four children with: Brooklyn, Romeo, Harper, and Cruz. —JCB, GMA News
