Brad Pitt's former stunt double now directs actor's upcoming film 'Bullet Train'

You might know David Leitch as the director of "John Wick," but did you know he was formerly Brad Pitt's stunt double?

And now Leitch is the one helming "Bullet Train," headlined by Pitt!

Before debuting as a director, Leitch entered the industry as a stuntsman. He worked with Pitt on his classic films "Fight Club," "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," and "Troy," among others.

"I can tell you that the relationship between actor and stuntman that was part of that movie is real," Leitch said. "You develop a close and collaborative relationship. We went in different directions for a while, but fate wasn’t done with us, and I’m so glad it’s brought us back together."

Aside from "John Wick," Leitch has already directed numerous notable action films including "Deadpool 2," and "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw."
Despite this, he said that there are boundless opportunities to stretch the action genre.

"There’s action in comedy, there’s action in thrillers, there’s action in horror," he said. "My entire adult life has been action on film. Action is in my DNA. So I’m excited by the idea of taking big, provocative swings and making bold choices, as we keep it action-adjacent."

"Bullet Train" follows a group of eclectic, diverse assassins all with the same goal in mind — to steal a mysterious suitcase during a high-speed train ride across Japan.

Aside from Pitt, the cast includes Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Hiroyuki Sanada, Michael Shannon, and Benito A Martínez Ocasio.

It is set to premiere on Philippine theaters on August 3. —JCB, GMA News
