BTS, BLACKPINK among the nominees for group of the year at 2022 VMAs

MTV just announced more nominations for this year’s Video Music Awards (VMA), including group of the year.

BTS and BLACKPINK are among the nominees for this category.

Joining them are Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, City Girls, Imagine Dragons, Måneskin, and Silk Sonic.

BTS has won group of the year for the past three years.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK will be debuting the first live performance for their single “Pink Venom

Eight-time VMAs winner Red Hot Chili Peppers will also receive the prestigious Global Icon Award.

Under the awards’ Social Categories, voting for Group of the Year will be done on MTV’s Instagram Stories starting August 20.

Held annually, the MTV VMAs honor the industry’s best in the music video medium. This year’s ceremony will be held at New Jersey’s Prudential Center on August 28, Sunday.

The first batch of nominees were released in July. Doja Cat, Harry Styles, and Jack Harlow are tied for the most nods at eight. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA News
