Ben&Ben’s Paolo pours emotions after long-term relationship in new song ‘The Ones We Once Loved’

Are you ready? Ben&Ben’s new song “The Ones We Once Loved” is a rollercoaster of emotions amid one’s life journey.

On Thursday, a few hours before the song’s release, singer Paolo Benjamin Guico revealed the track was “one of the most personal, and vulnerable songs I have ever written.”

“As most of you have known, a few years ago, I was in a long-term relationship which you have known much about, [because] we shared a bit of our journey with you. And then, it ended,” he wrote on Instagram.

Paolo said since then, both of them had gone through different experiences and several emotions on their own.

“The time that passed since then has been an incredible journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth for the both of us, individually,” he said.

“Eventually, peace, acceptance, respect for the past, and closure came. It wasn’t easy, and there were many emotions that went into that process. These emotions are in the song you’re about to hear.”

Paolo said, “if you are going through your own process right now, or there are unspoken feelings or thoughts you may still have, may this song help you through them.”

He also hoped listeners would “have the closure you search for, and the happiness you deserve.”

Ben&Ben’s “The Ones We Once Loved” will premiere Aug. 26 midnight. – RC, GMA News
