Korean agency SM Entertainment cancels Halloween party following stampede in Itaewon
SM Entertainment cancelled its annual Halloween festivities after dozens were killed in the stampede that happened in Itaewon, Seoul, South Korea.
According to a Soompi report
, SM announced on Sunday that the "SM Town Wonderland 2022" on Beyond Live and the party itself will not push through. It was scheduled later in the evening."Because the 'SM Town Wonderland 2022' event itself has been cancelled, there will be no livestream of the red carpet either. We ask for fans' understanding," the statement read.
The event features several SM Entertainment artists in their best Halloween costumes every year.

On Saturday night, at least 151 people were killed in a crush when a crowd celebrating Halloween went into an alley in the Itaewon district.
South Korea's President Yook Suk Yeol declared a period of national mourning and expressed condolences to the victims, Reuters reported.
