'Genshin Impact' is getting an anime series, and here's what you need to know about it

In case you missed it, an anime series based on Genshin Impact is officially in the works!

The role-playing game made the announcement through Twitter with a three-minute concept trailer of the upcoming show.

“Let us step into this vast magical world of adventure together,” it said. “The long-term collaboration project between Genshin Impact and ufotable has begun.”

What do you need to know about Genshin Impact?

First, it's said to be among the highest-grossing role-playing mobile games — and it was only released in 2020. It was produced by HoYoverse and garnered a lot of interest during the pandemic, and it remains to be a big favorite.

Do you know Kaeya? Diluc? Childe? You might have seen these names trending on Twitter one too many times — yes, they're Genshin characters.

Second, the story set in Teyvat, "a vast world teeming with life and flowing with elemental energy.” There are seven magical nations that will be brought to life — four of which are currently playable in the game — so lots of exploring to do!

Though no date for the anime has been released yet, Genshin Impact fans are nothing but excited. As of writing, the trailer has attracted nearly two million views on YouTube since its release in September.
