TikTok Philippines celebrated women empowerment this Women's Month through a one-hour virtual event called #WomenOfTiktok featuring various personalities.

Top creators like taekwondo jin Pauline Lopez, first Miss Trans Global title holder Mela Habijan, and basketball player Kat Tan gathered together and shared their TikTok journeys as empowered women.

"I don't see myself as just a woman. I am a woman who is empowered. I am a woman who is strong. I am a woman who is inspired, and that's what makes us extraordinary," said Kat, who lost her arm in an accident at the age of 10 and became known as "One-Armed Mamba."

"I believe women exemplify great inner strength and resilience. You are capable of doing extraordinary things. And that is our strength as a woman," she added.

Tan went on to tell women to keep pursuing their dreams and create their own paths to greatness.

Sharing her taekwondo journey, Pauline  said that one of the major challenges that she faced is how to deal with the societal pressures and expectations of what women are supposed to do.

For her to overcome that challenge, she said she started reflecting on what she really wants.

"The core of it is to really believe in yourself," said the two-time SEA Games gold medalist.

Meanwhile, Mela praised women for being able to cultivate and amplify their voices to make decisions and speak up for themselves.

"I hope these women get to be heard each and every day," she said.

Other creators in the event include Janina Vela, cosplayer and actress Myrtle Sarrosa, and genealogist Mona Magno-Veluz.
