Kelsey Merritt makes history as first Filipino to walk the Victoria's Secret runway

It's official: Filipino-American model Kelsey Merritt is getting her wings.

Late Friday night in the Philippines, Kelsey made it official on social media as she declared, "WE DID IT PHILIPPINES!!!!!!"

"What an honor it is to be the first Filipino to walk in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2018!!! Ahhhhhh I can’t believe this!!" she added.

On Saturday morning, she shared a video of the moment she learned that her dreams came true. 

Kelsey began appearing on the Victoria's Secret website as a sportswear model in May 2018 and she's since been in the roster of models on the brand's social media accounts for promotional materials.

The venue and exact date of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is yet to be announced, but it is likely to be held in late November or early December according to a report by Harper's Bazaar.

Among the most notable models to appear on the Victoria's Secret catwalk are Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campbell, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, Helena Christensen and Miranda Kerr. — AT, GMA News
