DISTANCED SHOPPING

This local bag brand's one-on-one video consultation may be the best pivot for 'new normal' shopping

Online shopping is easy and practical, but it's not just the same as exploring a store, examining items, and asking a sales person everything there is to know about a product. We miss looking around, and the burst of excitement upon deciding on which item to get. We miss the personalized experience the most.

Enter Katre Live. It is the online video consultation offered by local leather brand, Katre Chic Leather Goods, which aims to give customers that personal shopping experience that most of us have missed since lockdown started.

With Katre Live, customers can shop safely from the comfort of their homes, all the while remembering what it was like to personally examine and learn about an item before spending your hard-earned money on it.

“A lot of people are still afraid to go out and some may have trust issues with online shopping, but a lot of them also miss the fun in shopping," Kat Erro, founder and creative director of Katre told GMA News. "Katre Live aims to address those issues.”

So, how does it work?

The Katre Live service is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

You can book a one-on-one shopping appointment over Zoom at least three days before your preferred date.

Once a booking is confirmed, the customer will have the “undivided attention” of a Katre sales associate for a full 40 minutes.

According to the guidelines, the customer is guaranteed “total privacy” and one can ask the associate anything within the time period. Katre Live has no purchase commitments.

Once the customer is satisfied with the product, he or she can make their payments via bank transfer or deposit (BPI transfer via InstaPAy, GCash, PayPal, or credit card via PayPal).

Once the payment is confirmed, the customer can expect the package to be delivered within 2-3 working days via courier.

The service comes right on time, as Katre launched a limited-edition Hello Kitty collaboration with Sanrio right before lockdown, cutting short the awesome shopping shebang.
