Pia Wurtzbach says Bea Luigi Gomez completes the colors of PHL flag at 2021 Miss Universe

Pia Wurtzbach sent out a very inspiring tweet as Bea Luigi Gomez tried to bring home the country’s fifth Miss Universe crown in Eilat, Israel on Monday.

“Gold to complete the colors of the flag!!” Queen P wrote, referring to the shimmering gold Francis Libiran number  Bea wore for the pageant’s final night.

Pia had worn an iconic blue gown when she was crowned Miss Universe back in 2015, while Catriona Gray when she took home the 2018 crown in a fiery red creation.

Bea gracefully bowed out of the 2021 Miss Universe competition as part of the Final Five, and of course, Pia had only encouraging words to say. 

"2018 tayo last nag top 5," she began. "We should be proud of Bea!"

The “out and proud” beauty queen, who hails from Cebu City, came very close to winning the crown after blazing through the preliminaries with her captivating walk and a show-stopping “Bakunawa” national costume.

Bea also made history as the first openly out member of the LGBTQIA+ community to win Miss Universe Philippines. — LA, GMA News
