Palawan resort named one of most romantic getaways in ASEAN
A resort in Palawan has been named one of the most romantic getaways in the ASEAN region.
ASEAN-focused travel initiative GOASEAN listed El Nido Resorts as one of "Southeast Asia's most romantic, best honeymoon, and must-see sights" for every traveler.
GOASEAN wrote that the group of eco-resorts " represents the best of the Philippines."
It also said that traveling almost two hours to get to El Nido Resorts via plane and boat is worth it because of its "stunning crystal clear waters, caves, idyllic white sandy beaches and forests that surround each resort on the islands."
El Nido Resorts are comprised of Pangulasian Island Resort, Miniloc Island Resort, and Lagen Island Resort in El Nido, and Apulit Island Resort in Taytay.
The other eight resorts that made it to the list are:
- Song Saa Private Island in Cambodia
- Amanjiwo in Central Java, Indonesia
- Langkawi Archipelago in Malaysia
- Tanah Lot Temple in Bali, Indonesia
- Mövenpick Resort & Spa Karon Beach in Phuket, Thailand
- La Résidence Phou Vao in Lao PDR
- Bagan in Myanmar
- Six Senses Con Dao in Vietnam
This is not the first time that El Nido, Palawan received this kind of accolade. The eco-resorts was named one of Asia's Top Eco Resorts in Travel+Leisure Southeast Asia's Green Issue in 2012.
Its dive spots in Pangulasian Island and Lagen Island were also recognized by a United Nations initiative for minimizing environmental impact. The area has a lively marine life with over 800 marine species, 400 kinds of corals, and 500 marine vertebrae.
