Which PHL destination is again named ‘best island in the world’ by int’l travelers?

An international travel magazine has once again crowned Palawan the best island in the world.

Condé Nast Traveler readers gave Palawan an overall rating of 85.937 for the magazine's Reader's Choice Awards.

"This small island—one of the Philippines’ 7,107—shot to the top of our list again this year with a recent claim to fame: It’s now home to one of the new seven natural wonders of the world, Puerto Princesa Subterranean River," Condé Nast Traveler wrote.

For this year, more than 128,000 travelers took part in the magazine's 28th annual Readers' Choice Awards survey, the most in its history.

Palawan beat out other popular island destinations such as Bora Bora, Bali, Santorini, and Maldives.

The island was also given the same distinction last year.

Boracay, Cebu

Boracay also made it once again to Condé Nast Traveler's best islands in the world list. However, its ranking dropped to 15th spot from 12th last year.

"The aptly named White Beach is Boracay’s main draw, with powdery white sand and shallow azure water ideal for swimming and snorkeling," the magazine wrote.

Condé Nast Traveler readers also love another Philippine island. Cebu made it to the 19th spot with an overall rating of 80.404.

"The most densely populated island in the Philippines, Cebu is famous for its beaches, on the mainland as well as around many of the surrounding islands. Not as wild as Phuket in Thailand, Cebu City is more personal, with plenty of up-and-coming restaurants and shopping," it said.

Condé Nast Traveler recommended Camotes Islands to get a "true taste of island life."
