Siargao's Sugba Lagoon to be temporarily closed for rehab — DOT

Sugba Lagoon, one of the most favorite tourist attractions in Siargao Island, will be temporarily closed to give way to rehabilitation efforts, according to the Department of Tourism (DOT).

"Sugba lagoon in Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte will be closed starting January 10-February 10 (one month) for its annual rehabilitation," the DOT-Caraga Region said in an advisory released earlier this week.

The tourism office of the Municipality of Del Carmen

also issued an advisory indicating that tourism facilities will be repaired during the said period.

Other island destinations in town such as the Mangrove Forest, Kawhagan Sand Bar, and Pamomoan Beach are still open to the public, it added.
