Cavite hot air balloon fest features more activities

The Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta held in Carmona, Cavite this weekend offer activities other than the usual hot-air balloon rides.

The anticipated event also features other fun aerial activities like skydiving, helicopter riding and kite-flying, according to a State of the Nation with Jessica Soho report by Darlene Cay.

Michael Cardenas, one of the festival attendees, decided to go sky diving for the first time.

He believed it would be safe, as there was a trained professional to accompany him.

"Habang bata pa ako diba, habang kaya pa ng puso diba? Kailangan lang magtiwala diyan sa ating mga skydivers na magiging safe at magiging masaya sa experience na ito," he said.

However, the winds were too strong on Friday and this prompted the organizers to cancel all aerial activities.

"Try again sa ibang araw. Hopefully tomorrow, we trust the professionals. Better safe than injured," Cardenas said.

Although the aerial activities were canceled, event-goers could still go paintball target shooting, shopping for souvenirs at the fly market, attending shows or going on a food trip.

In the report, the hot air balloon festival was perfect for couples like Archie Sernal and Marjorie Lagidao who went there on their first date.

But the event is not just for couples. Kids like Aren Encarnado's son, who loved cars and planes, had an enjoyable time as well. — Angelica Y. Yang/BAP, GMA News
