Miss the outdoors? Here are some fun things you can do in Cagayan de Oro

Cagayan de Oro is known as the “City of Golden Friendship.”

Whether you’re a nature lover or an extreme sports enthusiast, there’s surely something for you to do.

But since many of us can’t travel just yet, “Unang Hirit” took viewers on a virtual tour around the northern Mindanao city’s many sites.

As a start, why not pay a visit to the glorious San Agustin Metropolitan Cathedral? The centuries-old church has been a symbol of Cagayan de Oro resilience since it was built in 1624.

You can also visit “the only leaning tower museum in the country,” as well as Cagayan de Oro’s totally Instagrammable Isalina Bridge.

But if it’s extreme sports you’re after, why not go rafting on Cagayan De Oro’s famous whitewater rapids?

Nature lovers, on the other hand, might want to see the majestic Sinulom Falls or take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of Bulao Springs. Tourists can also take a hike to the gorgeous Amaya View, the city’s highest peak.
