Siargao among Time Magazine's list of 100 World's Greatest Places of 2021

Here's another reason to add Siargao to your bucket list: the island got listed by Time Magazine among its 100 World's Greatest Places of 2021.

The article

described Siargao as a teardrop-shaped island that until recently had been "best known to a dedicated band of surfers lured by consistent waves."

"But the secret is out, and new spots are popping up on the island," it said.

It added that just before the Philippine government imposed a lockdown due to  the coronavirus pandemic, the island had installed additional cell towers to improve data connectivity "which will be a boon to tourism when it reopens to vaccinated international travelers."

Siargao joined the ranks of Maldives, Paris, Syndey, and Tokyo, among others. —JCB, GMA News
