Independent dealers of liquefied petroleum gas on Thursday rolled back the prices of their products anew, this time by P1 per kilo.

The rollback by the LPG Marketers Association, which translated to an P11/kilo drop per 11-kg tank, took effect at 12:01 a.m., according to a report on dzBB radio.

LPGMA party list Rep. Arnel Ty was quoted in the report as saying this was due to the continued lowering of LPG prices in the world market.

Earlier this month, the LPGMA similarly rolled back prices of their products by P1 per kilo or P11 per 11-kg tank.

The recent rollbacks had given consumers, drivers and commuters relief from prices of petroleum products.

Fuel firms had also rolled back prices of their products in past weeks to reflect the dropping prices of oil in the world market.

This in turn prompted the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to bring down the minimum fare for passenger jeeps by 50 centavos. In Metro Manila, this brought down minimum jeep fares to P8 from P8.50. –KG, GMA News
