Globe taps Irish firm Nasctech for operation support system
Ayala-led Globe Telecom Inc. has tapped Dublin-based Nasc Technologies (Nasctech) to enhance the efficiency of its recently completed network upgrade. Under the partnership, Globe will use Nasctech’s Streamline solution, which will combine a real-time view of all field operations with actionable management tools through a single, structured database of all field data. In a statement, Globe chief technical adviser Robert Tan said Nasctech will help further improve Globe's network quality, enhance efficiency in its field operations and improve customer experience. Nasctech chief executive officer Des Keary said field operation support systems could save an operator with 5,000 different sites up to 10 percent of field operating expenses. “Streamline gives operators a real-time view of all field-based projects and activities, providing strong validation and visibility. Furthermore, the solution mobilizes the operator’s critical applications, leveraging investments in OSS, ticketing platforms and more,” he said. Streamline will exclusively be implemented throughout the Globe system starting July. In March, Globe completed the first phase of its $700 million network modernization. — DOR/BM, GMA News
