CAB grants Cebu Pacific more flights to five international destinations

The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) has allowed Gokongwei-led budget carrier Cebu Pacific to mount additional flights to five international destinations.

In an e-mailed statement, Cebu Pacific said it will be offering additional Manila flights to Singapore, Myanmar, New Zealand and Macau, and Cebu flights to Hong Kong.

CAB also designated Cebu Pacific as an official Philippine carrier to New Zealand, Myanmar, and Canada.

The budget carrier will have seven flights weekly from Manila to New Zealand and 1,260 entitlements from Manila to Singapore, allowing the airline to upgrade its current daily Airbus A320 service to an Airbus A330 service.

The CAB also agreed with Cebu Pacific’s opposition to the extension of the codeshare agreement between Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Emirates on the Manila-Dubai route ,which is set to expire in October 2014. — Danessa O. Rivera/BM, GMA News
