Four regional airports to be ‘night-rated’ for evening flights —DBM
Expect more evening flights in the country as four regional airports get “night-rated” come December, Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno said Wednesday.
To get night-rating capabilities are the regional airports in Cotabato, Cauayan, Dipolog, and Naga, Diokno said in a press conference in Manila City.
Once an airport is night-rated, it can accommodate and process flights from 6:00 p.m. onwards.
“Airplanes can take off even after 6:00 p.m. This will increase the number of flights available nationwide,” Diokno told reporters.
Four other airports were equipped with night-rating capabilities in 2017, including Caticlan, Dumaguete, Legaspi, and Roxas. The Tuguegarao airport was also nigh-rated earlier this year.
The government is also eyeing to have the airports in Ozamis and Pagadian night-rated. —VDS, GMA News
