BIR orders Chinese restaurant in San Juan City closed

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has ordered the closure of a Chinese restaurant in San Juan City for allegedly failing to pay the right amount of taxes.

In a report on Super Radyo dzBB by Glen Juego on Monday, operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team of San Juan City Police and officers of the BIR Regional Office 7 served the closure order on Mann Hann’s Little Baguio branch.

The closure is part of the bureau’s Oplan Kandado Program against establishments found violating the Tax Code.

Representatives of the restaurant, however, declined to accept the closure order until their lawyer arrives.

According to the BIR Regional Office 7, the agency has sent the restaurant several notices but it did not respond to its queries. —Ted Cordero/VDS, GMA News
