The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) awarded P3.424 billion in prizes to 58 individuals during the first 10 months of the year.

The prizes are roughly 6 percent of the PCSO’s gross revenue in the same period.

Most of the winners shared prize winnings in the following games:

“The accumulated sales of the agency from Lotto alone are P17,039,845,780. Napakalaking tulong ito sa ating Charity Fund. Kaya I encourage everyone to continue patronizing our products,” said PCSO General Manager Alexander Balutan.

The PCSO is a government-owned and controlled corporation (GOCC) mandated to raise and provide funds for health programs, medical assistance and services, and charities of national character.

Under its charter, the PCSO must allocate 55 percent of its revenue to prizes, 30 percent to its charity fund, and 15 percent to operational expenses.

It reported a 27-percent increase in revenue during the first ten months of the year, with gross sales reaching P54.8 billion. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/VDS, GMA News
