Exterior and interior design studies of San Miguel's Bulacan airport

San Miguel Corporation has released design studies of its proposed airport in Bulakan, Bulacan.

The Department of Transportation had earlier announced the awarding of the P735-billion contract to build and operate the New Manila International Airport in Bulakan, Bulacan to the conglomerate.

San Miguel's proposed airport design provides for 100 million passengers a year and is seen to accommodate 240 aircraft movements per hour. It may also expand to 200 million passengers annually. The project will also include the construction of an 8.4-kilometer tollway that will connect the airport to the North Luzon Expressway in Marilao.

The Bulacan airport is expected to be operational within four to six years after the start of construction, targeted before the end of 2019.
