Globe coastal clean-up for rewards points


Globe Telecom customers participating in a coastal clean-up drive can get 100 Globe Rewards points, the company said on Friday.

The clean-up drive will happen in selected locations in Metro Manila and Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Zambales on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

Each year, the third Saturday of September has been declared an International Coastal Clean-Up Day.

In line with the telco’s 917 celebration, Globe is calling on customers to volunteer and take part in a clean-up activity led by the International Coastal Clean-Up Philippines and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

Globe is urging it customers to participate in the coastal clean-up at the Baseco Beach  in Tondo, Manila; the Las Piñas-Parañaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area; and the Lighthouse Marina Resort at the Moonbay Marina Complex, Subic Bay Freeport Zone in Zambales on September 21.

Globe said its customers can also exchange 30 pieces of single use plastic waste for 100 Globe rewards points through its Plastic Xchange program with seven partner communities.

Sachets, wrappers, sando bags, and water bottles may be brought to the following locations on September 14, Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

  • Palatiw barangay hall, Pasig City
  • Magsaysay Court, Barangay South Signal Village Taguig City
  • FFF Covered Court, Barangay Upper Bicutan, Taguig City
  • Andres Bonifacio Integrated School Covered Court, Mandaluyong City
  • Multi-Purpose Hall, Maria Cristina St., Barangay 455, Sampaloc, Manila
  • Barangay Magallanes Covered Court, Makati City
  • San Antonio barangay hall parking lot, Pasig City (8 a.m. to 12 noon)

“It is everyone’s responsibility to take care of the only planet we live in,” Globe chief sustainability officer and SVP for Corporate Communications Yoly Crisanto said.
