Utility Maynilad Water Services Inc. said on Saturday that it would install 10 static water tanks in Batangas and Cavite evacuation centers for locals displaced by the Taal Volcano eruption.
"Maynilad wants to lend its help in the nationwide effort to support our kababayans in their time of need. Since one of the immediate needs of disaster survivors is water, this is what we are providing heavily at this time,” Maynilad President Ramoncito Fernandez said in a statement.
"We are one with the nation in praying that this disaster will soon cease," he added.
Aside from water tanks, Maynilad said it would also provide bottled water and other relief goods.
The water utility's relief efforts were being coordinated with the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation, Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Office of Civil Defense, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the local governments of Cavite and Batangas. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM GMA News
