Fuel prices seen to go down next week

Motorists should expect lower pump prices of petroleum products next week, a weekly forecast by Unioil Petroleum Philippines said Saturday.

In its price outlook for January 28 to February 3, Unioil said the price per liter of diesel should be slashed by P0.30 to P0.40, while gasoline prices should be reduced by P0.25 to P0.35 per liter.

Oil companies usually announce fuel price adjustments every Monday of the week to be implemented on Tuesday.

Gasoline prices range between P44.45 and P56.04 per liter while diesel prices range at P39 to 44.77 per liter, data from the Department of Energy showed.

Year-to-date adjustments stood at a net decrease of P0.95 per liter for gasoline and P1.50 per liter for diesel. —Ted Cordero/KG, GMA News
