Metro Retail announces stricter health protocols as six stores reopen

Metro Retail Stores Group Inc. on Tuesday announced stricter health safety measures in their establishments, as six stores have reopened this week to accommodate shoppers amid the easing of community quarantine rules.

In an emailed statement, Metro Retail said three stores were opened starting May 16 -- Metro Ayala Malls Feliz (10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.); The District Imus Metro Department Store (10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.); and Metro Ayala Malls Capitol Central Bacolod (10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.)

Three other stores were opened starting May 18 -- Metro Department Store, Marquee Mall in Pampanga (11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.); and Metro Supermarket and Department Stores Pacific Mall Lucena and Pacific Mall Legazpi (8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.).

"We are taking necessary steps to ensure the safety and protection of everyone in the branches that will reopen," said Metro Retail chief marketing officer Pilut Montes.

"Among these health measures are installation of thermal scanning stations and antibacterial mats at store entrances, provision of face masks/face shields for Metro Retail staff and alcohol dispensers at counters, consistent practice of social distancing, and reinforcement of scheduled disinfection of stores," added Montes.—AOL, GMA News
