URC sole Filipino firm to receive distinction in Thailand's FDA Quality Awards

Universal Robina Corp. (URC), through its Thai subsidiary, is the sole Filipino company to receive a distinction in the food category of this year's Thailand's FDA Quality Awards.

In an emailed statement, URC said its subsidiary URC (Thailand) Co. Ltd. was recognized for its use of efficient systems to manufacture safe and high-quality products.


URC Thailand's brands include those its parent company offers in the Philippines, such as Jack'n Jill Fun-O, Tivoli, Roller Coaster, Cream-O, Dewberry, Lausanne, Dynamite, and Lush.

"Receiving this award is one of the company’s successes, as providing safe and quality products to our consumers is a collaboration of everyone in the organization," said Boonyarat Chunet, URC Quality Assurance and Quality Management System manager.

"We will stay committed and plans to further uplift the quality system of our organization to bring it to the next level," he added.

URC Philippines is involved in a range of food-related businesses such as the manufacture and distribution of branded consumer foods; flour milling; sugar milling and refining; production of hogs and poultry; and the manufacture of animal feeds and veterinary products.

Aside from the Philippines and Thailand, the company also has presence in other markets through its subsidiaries in the Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Vietnam, New Zealand, and Australia.

Share prices of the company closed Wednesday at P133.40 apiece, up by 4 centavos or 0.30% from the previous finish of P133.00 per piece.—AOL, GMA News
