Meralco fully restores power cut by Ulysses

The Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) on Wednesday announced it has fully restored power connections to all customers affected by the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses early this month.

“As of November 24, 2020, Meralco has completed full restoration of all of its facilities and electric service affected by Typhoon Ulysses,” the power distribution utility said in a statement.

On November 12, during the peak of the typhoon’s ravage, power supply to some 3.8 million Meralco customers were cut

The company slowly restored power connections as it waited for floods to subside in typhoon-hit areas.

It initially targeted to fully restore power by November 15, but the severity of flooding in several areas made it difficult for its linemen to access.

“For customers/households that may still be experiencing intermittent power service, they can contact us at 16211 or our official Facebook and Twitter accounts,” Meralco said. — Ted Cordero/RSJ, GMA News
