International flights of flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) to and from Manila will continue amid the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in place in NCR Plus, while domestic flights will be subject to regulations imposed by local government units of the concerned destination.

In an advisory, PAL said inbound international flights will continue to be limited to a maximum of 1,500 passengers per day for all airlines combined at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Several flights have already been canceled

, while some may be re-routed to land in Cebu or Clark instead, to ensure that arrivals are maintained within government limitations.

For domestic flights, PAL said these will continue to operate subject to compliance with any restrictions on flight frequencies or capacity that may be imposed by the LGUs, and only essential and authorized persons outside of their residences (APOR) will be allowed.

Affected travelers may either convert their tickets to a travel voucher, avail of unlimited rebooking free of cost, or refund their tickets without penalties.

"This is an evolving situation. We shall provide updates, as needed, via our PAL Facebook Page and website," the carrier said.

during the week-long ECQ in the Greater Manila Area.

Metro Manila and nearby provinces — collectively tagged as NCR Plus — are under ECQ starting midnight March 29 until Sunday, April 4, 2021.

Prior to the announcement of the ECQ, the government banned the non-essential entry and exit into the NCR Plus bubble during the same period. The bubble covers Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, and Bulacan.

The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) earlier said another two-week modified enhanced community quarantine — one notch lower than the ECQ — would bring about P2.1 billion daily losses.
