Grab Philippines has issued a statement after its riders and Kris Bernal were victimized by 23 fake food bookings from the same number on Saturday night.

In the statement sent to GMA News Online via Viber on Monday, the company said it has “zero-tolerance police” on such “fraudulent activities.”

“It has been brought to our attention that someone has recently used our platform to place multiple orders - causing undue stress to Ms Kris Bernal and our driver-partners,” it read.

“We have immediately conducted our investigation and we have blocked the mobile phone IMEI of the fraudster to avoid similar incidents from happening in the future,” it continued.

Consistent with what Kris said on an Instagram Story, Grab said it was already coordinating with the actress. Additionally, the company has also returned the riders’ money.

“We are also working closely with Ms. Kris Bernal on the matter, and we have reimbursed our delivery-partners who have fallen prey to this fraudster,” the statement read.

“Grab Philippines will continue to extend its cooperation with the local authorities in their investigation,” it added.

Earlier Monday, it was reported that the actress has already reached out to the National Bureau of Investigation to ask for help and guidance on the matter.

Kris detailed her horrendous experience on Instagram through several posts, sharing videos, photos, and voice recordings of the incident. — LA, GMA News
