DITO hurdles performance audit of 2nd year service commitments

DITO Telecommunity Corp. was able to meet its deliverables for the second year of its commitment period since it secured a license from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, DITO CME Holdings Corp. said that its subsidiary, DITO Tel, received notice from the NTC that the third telco passed the technical audit for its commitments such as national population coverage and minimum average broadband speed for the second year.

The holding form said that the NTC, quoting the findings of its independent auditor, stated that the calculated national population coverage percentage of DITO Tel is 52.75%.

Meanwhile, the minimum average broadband speeds or megabits per second (Mbps) delivered by are 89.13 Mbps and 853.96 Mbps for all its 4G and 5G sites, respectively.

“Note that as part of the issuance of its Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity in July 2019, DITO Tel committed to deliver National Population Coverage of 51.01% and Minimum Average Broadband Speed of 55 Mbps in the Second Year of its Commitment Period,” the company said.

DITO Tel has grown its network coverage to 210 cities and municipalities nationwide from 15 pilot areas since it commercially launched in March.

As of August 1, the telco hit two million subscribers.—AOL, GMA News
