Vaccination of private sector workers’ minor dependents to begin Nov. 5 — Concepcion

By TED CORDERO,GMA News

The private sector has been given the go-ahead to inoculate workers’ minor dependents, Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion said Friday.

“I talked to them [Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases] this morning. There is no problem. They will allow us to vaccinate 12 to 17-year-olds starting November 5,” Concepcion told GMA News Online.

The presidential adviser was asked what the private sector planned to do with the 400,000 Moderna COVID-19 vaccine doses it procured that are expected to expire in late November.

“It won’t be much of a problem because we will use it as the first dose,” Concepcion said.

“Madaling ubusin lang ‘yan eh kasi on top of the minors there are still others who are taking it,” he added.

The private sector will use its existing inoculation sites for the vaccination of minor dependents.

Some 25 million Filipinos have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus as of October 21, according to the government. The total doses administered stood at 54.44 million.

Metro Manila remained the top region with the highest percentage of vaccinated individuals, with 80% of its target population already fully inoculated against COVID-19. — VBL, GMA News
