GMA Network management, employees' union ink CBA

By GMA News

The GMA Network management and the GMA Employees' Union have signed a collective bargaining agreement, which contains the biggest bonus in history that a broadcasting company will give to its rank and file employees.

According to JP Soriano's report on "24 Oras", each employee who had been a regular employee for more than 10 years will receive a P130,000 signing bonus.

An employee who had been a regular employee for five to ten years will receive a P115,000 signing bonus.

An employee who had been a regular employee for less than five years will receive a P100,000 signing bonus.

The CBA also provides for a P3,000 increase in the monthly salary.

GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit Jr., and Executive Vice President and CFO Felipe S. Yalong were present virtually during the signing of the CBA.

“Nais kong emphasize na in so far as management is concerned, we do not look to our employees as employees. But as our partners in our day to day endeavor to make a success for our company. That is where I am very thankful for.

The GMA Network management panel thanked the members of the GMA Employees Union after the signing of the CBA.

“Ito na yata 'ata ang pinakamataas sa industriya, speaking for management how satisfying itong CBA na ito dahil 'yung needs and accommodations nangyari 'yun,” said Atty. Roberto Parel, GMA legal counsel and head of the management panel.

“Sa ating chairman, Atty. Felipe Gozon, kay sir Duavit, at sa the rest ng nakaharap namin sa panel ng management, nagpapasalamat lahat ng manggagawa, in behalf of my members, ang union nagpapasalamat sa kanila at sa magandang benepisyo na binigay nila sa atin,” said Ronaldo Condestable, GMA Employees' Union president and head of the union panel. —Richa Noriega/NB, GMA News
