The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System Regulatory Office (MWSS-RO) has directed west-zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. to explain the recent water supply interruptions in several areas of its franchise.

“We asked Maynilad to explain already. We sent a formal NTE (notice to explain),” MWSS-RO chief regulator Patrick Ty told GMA News Online.

Maynilad has announced that customers in several areas in Metro Manila, Cavite, and Bulacan would experience water supply interruptions

starting October 17 until October 25 “due to high demand in Bagbag Reservoir.”

Maynilad corporate communications head Jennifer Rufo said the MWSS Corporate and Regulatory Offices had been apprised of the situation and were monitoring the steps being undertaken to restore water service to their normal level.
