Japanese investors have expressed serious interest in investing on the Philippines renewable energy sector, Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) officer-in-charge Tereso Panga said on Thursday.

Panga said a business forum is being held in Tokyo, Japan, which aims to develop ecozones and improve exports.

"Nakita po natin na may interes po sila, serious and heightened interest, in areas of renewable energy... nandiyan din po 'yung electronic vehicle as well as 'yun pong agro-industrial sector. Dito po nakatuon ang ating interes at 'yung energies natin para lalo pang mahikayat silang mamuhunan sa Pilipinas," he said in a public briefing.
