Shell revives diesel discount for public transport

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., a major player in the Philippine oil industry, will revive an expanded version of Pepeng Pasada Loyalty Rewards Programme in Metro Manila, giving public utility jeeps and buses a P0.50 discount on diesel. The program will start this Saturday, Jan. 1, in response to the Department of Energy’s call for the oil industry to help the transport sector cushion the impact of rising petroleum prices, the company said in a statement. “The Pepeng Pasada discount comes at a time when international oil prices are rising. We hope that through this discount, we are able to help cushion the impact on the transport sector," said Roberto Kanapi, Pilipinas Shell vice president for communications. The discount will be available first in 15 Shell filling stations in Manila Manila. Oil firms raised petroleum prices by P1 per liter and diesel by P0.75 on Wednesday. — VS, GMANews.TV
