PHL banks vow uninterrupted ATM service during long weekend

Banks on Tuesday said they will provide uninterrupted service through ATMs during the four-day weekend starting with All Saints’ Day on Nov. 1.   In an advisory sent to media organizations, BDO Unibank Inc. said its automated teller machines ( ATMs) will continue to handle transactions during the long weekend.   BDO branches will have regular banking hours until Wednesday, Oct. 31, but and will be closed Nov. 1 and 2. For Saturday, Nov. 3, and Sunday, Nov. 4, BDO branches that are usually open on weekends will have regular banking hours.   Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co. (Metrobank) said it is beefing up its bank channels and is getting ready for limited operations during the four-day weekend.   From Nov. 1 to 4, selected Metrobank branches nationwide will be open to serve its clients.   Metrobank said it is doing maintenance checks on all ATMs nationwide, making sure the machines are loaded with sufficient cash to meet the requirements of customers over the long weekend. The bank’s operation support teams are on-duty 24/7 to ensure the continuity of ATM services, it added.   Metrobank ATM accountholders can also pay for their purchases in department stores, supermarkets and other establishments through BancNet point-of-sale or POS terminals, it added.   Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank) said its teller machines nationwide – numbering over 500 – are ready to serve clients during long weekend.   According to PSBank, a dedicated team working 24/7 will ensure all branch and offsite ATMs are operational during the four-day weekend. – VS, GMA News
