PHL banks assure clients access to cash during Holy Week break


(Updated 6:04 p.m., April 1, 2015) Most Philippine banks are open only until Wednesday this week, so any urgent banking transaction must be done before the Holy Week break starting Maundy Thursday.
 
However, most banks are giving their clients the assurance that they can access their accounts and withdraw cash through automated teller machines (ATMs).
 
Malacañang has declared Maundy Thursday and Good Friday (April 2 and 3) as non-working holidays.
 
BDO Unibank
 
All BDO Unibank branches will be open until Wednesday, April 1. Regular banking operations will resume on Monday, April 6.
 
ATMs and electronic channels will be ready to handle transactions and other banking services, according to BDO.

BPI 
 
All branches and kiosks of Bank of the Philippine Islands and BPI Family Savings Bank will be closed from Thursday, April 2, to Sunday, April 5.
 
Regular banking operations will resume on Monday, April 6, 2015.
 
The bank is encouraging clients to complete their banking transactions ahead of the holidays.
 
Customers may also use ATMs, Express Deposit machines, internet, mobile and phone banking channels.

China Bank, China Bank Savings, Plantersbank
 
All branches of China Bank, China Bank Savings, and Plantersbank branches nationwide will be closed on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. 
 
China Bank branches that usually open on Saturday will be closed on Black Saturday. Only China Bank North EDSA Annex will open on Easter Sunday. 
 
Branches of China Bank Savings in Savemore and SM Hypermart will be open on Saturday and Sunday,  April 4 and April 5.  
 
China Bank, Chinabank Savings and Plantersbank will resume regular operations on Monday, April 6.  
 
Clients may access their accounts or do banking transactions via e-banking channels that include ATM, online and mobile banking, phone banking, and China Bank App. 
 
EastWest 
 
All EastWest Bank branches will be closed on April 2, Maundy Thursday and April 3, Good Friday.
 
However, select EastWest brancheswill open on April 4 and 5: Baclaran, Cebu Park Mall, 168 Mall, 999 Shopping Mall, Greenhills Shopping Center, Bicutan East Service Road, Festival Mall Level 2 and Greenhills Promenade (April 4 only). These "stores" will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  
 
For checking their account balances, paying bills and transferring funds, clients can access over 500 ATMs as wells as EastWest’s internet banking facility 24/7.
 


Metrobank
 
Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company will open select branches across the country on select days during the Holy Week break.
 
All Metrobank ATMs nationwide will continue to operate 24/7 holidays. 
 
For monitoring bank transactions, fund transfers, or bills payments use alternative banking channels such as MetrobankDirect or Metrophone or download the Metrobank Mobile Banking App on Google Play Store or Apple App Store for such basic banking transactions.

PNB
 
Select Philippine National Bank branches are open on April 2, 3, 4, and 5.
 
 
PSBank
 
PSBank's 246 branches will close after regular banking hours on Wednesday, April 1, and will resume regular operations on April 6, Monday.
 
However, its 597 branch and offsite ATMs nationwide will continue to operate and accommodate withdrawals, inquiries, and other bank transactions during the Holy Week break.
 
Customers can also access their funds via PSBank’s online and mobile banking facilities.
 
The bank is asking customers to use the 24-hour Customer Experience hotline (02) 845-8888 or chat mode via PSBank LiveChat.

PVB
 
While its branches will be closed from Maundy Thursday (April 2) up to Black Saturday (April 4) and on through Easter Sunday, Philippine Veterans Bank said its ATMs are fully stocked for the long weekend.
 
Banking operations will resume on April 6, Monday.


Security Bank
 
Most Security Bank branches will be closed starting April 2 (Maundy Thursday) and normal banking hours will resume on Monday, April 6.
 
However, the Security Bank NAIA Branch which will be open from April 2 to 4 or Maundy Thursday to Black Saturday, while its Sta. Elena Branch at 168 Shopping Mall in  Binondo, Manila will be open on April 5, Easter Sunday. 
 
 
Customers may still get in touch with the bank through Security Bank Online, with the bank's ATMs will be available to serve its customers, the bank said. 
 
UCPB 
 
United Coconut Planters Bank branches will be closed starting Maundy Thursday until Black Saturday, April 2 to 4, and through Easter Sunday.
 
Banking operations will resume on Monday, April 6, 2015.
