Around 122K opportunities open on Independence Day job fairs — DOLE exec

More or less 122,000 job vacancies are up for grabs in the job and business fairs on Independence Day organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), an official said on Thursday.

At the Laging Handa public briefing, DOLE Region 3 assistant director Alejandro Inza Cruz said the department will set up 23 sites nationwide for its Independence Day Job and Business Fairs.

“Naghanay po ang DOLE ng trabaho, negosyo, kabuhayan business fairs sa ating buong Pilipinas. Meron po tayong mga 122,000 more or less job vacancies na io-offer sa ating publiko,” he said.

(The DOLE set up  Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan Business Fairs in the entire Philippines. We have around 122,000 more or less job vacancies that we offer to the public.)

Around 95,000 of these job opportunities are local, while over 27,000 are overseas, Cruz added.

For overseas job opportunities, most of the vacancies are for nurses, factory workers, household workers,  carpenters, electricians, masons, and cleaners in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Australia.

Some government agencies will also recruit workers at the event.

Aside from jobs, the event will also have activities in relation to trade, livelihood, skills, grants, and assistance for the participants.
