JOB, JOBS, JOBS PROGRAM

Gov’t to make available more than 11,000 jobs starting Tuesday

More than 11,000 job opportunities related to the government’s massive infrastructure program will be made available to the public under the “Jobs, Jobs, Jobs” portal starting Tuesday.

The portal—which will post employment opportunities under the Build, Build, Build program—was officially launched in Caloocan City on Tuesday.

“The new portal will enhance our goal of reaching Filipinos here and abroad to join the government’s infrastructure push,” Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar said.

Starting 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, a total of 11,063 jobs from 10 different contractors involved in Build, Build, Build will be made available on www.build.gov.ph.

Villar said the target is to post over 100,000 jobs on the portal, noting how the government envisions providing employment opportunities through it.

“Create more jobs for Filipinos, address the demand for workers to ensure fast and timely delivery of BBB projects, encourage returning overseas Filipinos to remain in the country and encourage more OFWs to return home.”

Under the Build, Build, Build program, the government plans to spend over P8 trillion until 2022, largely funded by tax revenue.

This year, the Philippines plans to roll out big-ticket projects cumulatively valued at $35.5 billion or P1.1 trillion. —VDS, GMA News
