DA sets new suggested retail price for agri products

 The Department of Agriculture (DA) has issued a new set of suggested retail prices (SRP) for select agricultural commodities sold in markets in Metro Manila.

In a statement, the DA said the issuance of new SRP is aimed to protect consumers as well as serve as a guide for retailers.

The DA issued Administrative Order No. 1, signed August 3 by Agriculture Secretary William Dar.

The order covers 11 prime agri-fishery commodities, namely rice, bangus, tilapia, galunggong, pork, chicken, eggs, onions, garlic, sugar and cooking oil.

The respective SRPs of the agriculture products are the following:

  • Imported commercial rice (special) - P52/kg
  • Imported commercial rice (premium) - P43/kg
  • Imported commercial rice (well milled) - P38/kg
  • Local commercial rice (special) - P53/kg
  • Local commercial rice (premium) - P45/kg
  • Local commercial rice (well milled) - P40/kg
  • Bangus - P169/kg
  • Tilapia - P120/kg

  • Galunggong (local) - P140/kg
  • Galunggong (imported) - P180/kg
  • Pork (pigue/kasim) - P230/kg
  • Pork (liempo) - P250/kg
  • Whole chicken - P130/kg

  • Garlic - P100/kg
  • Sugar (refined) - P50/kg
  • Sugar (brown) - P45/kg
  • Cooking oil (palm) - P25/350ml
