Prices of flowers up almost 50% on eve of Valentine's Day

Those who are doing last minute purchases of flowers for loved ones for Valentine's Day have to shell out more cash as prices have skyrocketed.

A bouquet composed of six pieces of sunflowers now cost P4,500 at the Farmers Flower Market in Quezon City, according to a report of Luisito Santos on Dobol B sa News TV.

Roses, on the other hand, previously sold at P50 per piece, are now priced at P100 per flower.

For one bouquet of roses, the price tag is now P1,500 from the original price of P500. —BAP/KG, GMA News
