Philippine banks close on Friday, April 9 for Day of Valor
Most local banks are closed on Friday, April 9, in observance of the National Day of Valor, which is a regular holiday.
On their social media pages, several banks announced their operating schedule for the day:
- Bank of the Philippine Islands: All branches, including BPI Family Savings Bank, and Bank are closed. Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), cash accept machines, online and app services remain available.
- Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co.: All branches closed. ATMs, mobile app and online services available.
- Security Bank Corp.: All branches closed. For assistance during this time, clients may call customer service hotline at (02) 8887-9188 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- China Bank: All branches closed. Mobile app, online bank, phone banking, and ATMs available.
- Union Bank of the Philippines: All branches closed. Clients are encouraged to bank online or via app.
- Land Bank of the Philippines: All branches closed. ATMS, electronic banking channels remain available. Select branches to open on Saturday to accept tax payments only.
- Philippine National Bank: All branches closed, except for branches at NAIA 1, 2, and 3 which are open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. ATMs, cash accept machines, digital banking services are available.
- Asia United Bank: All branches closed. ATM, online banking, mobile app services available.
- United Coconut Planters Bank: All branches closed. Select branches open on Saturday to accept BIR tax payments
- BDO Unibank: All branches closed. ATMs and online banking services are available.

BDO Unibank, meanwhile, said its Saturday banking within NCR Plus - Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, and Bulacan - will be suspended starting April 10, until further notice.
